REFUND Policy
- Because we keep our classes small, we depend on ensuring that students who are registering are able to take the class for the quarter they are signed up for. Due to our small class size and needing to ensure enough enrollments to run the classes, the $75 class deposit is nontransferable and nonrefundable, except in cases where there is an illness (which will need to be documented) or if military service is required. If you need to drop a class and give us notice 7 days before the first class, we will refund your class tuition if you paid the full class tuition, but the refund does not include the $75 nonrefundable deposit. To be eligible for the refund on the balance of the class tuition, please notify us at least 7 days before the first class. To request a refund in the case of medical illness or military service, please submit a letter with documentation by email to seattleartistswaycenter@gmail.com.
- Please note: No refunds are given once the classes have begun. It is not unusual for students to have to miss 1 or 2 classes over the 12 weeks and we are happy to send you notes for classes missed. If you anticipate having to miss more than 3 classes, we encourage you to take the class at another quarter when you are able to attend at least 9 of the 12 classes. This is not a class where you can "drop in" at random and we do ask students to make a commitment to attend at least 9 of the 12 classes and we reserve the right to disenroll students if they miss more than 3 classes (without any refund).
- We also do not transfer or credit class tuition from one quarter to upcoming quarters.
If you have any questions regarding our policy, please email us via our Contact page as we are happy to answer any questions!
Class Policy and Procedures
- Age Minimum - Our classes have a minimum age requirement of eighteen years.
- Deposits and Payment Due Date - We accept cash, checks and registration through our website via Paypal. A minimum, non-refundable deposit of $75 is required to hold the participant’s place in class.
Payment in full is due one week prior to the first day of class. After full payment date (7 days prior to the first day of class), refunds or credits will be granted only in the case of (1) serious illness or (2) military service.
- Cancellation - Cancellation one week prior to the start of the class will result in a refund minus the nonrefundable deposit. There are no refunds for withdrawing from the class after the first day.
- Structure of class – This is a class. It is not therapy and is not a therapy group.
- ZOOM Attendance - We ask that participants arrive on time and stay for the entire length of the class in order to not disrupt the experience of other participants. Since the class is being held online via Zoom, a couple of things to consider:
1) Consider attending class as if you were coming to class in-person (for example, being somewhat thoughtful about clothes choices, location from which to view class from). 2) We ask participants to have their video image on throughout the class so we can engage fully with you!
3) If possible, find a location in your home where you won’t be interrupted and others are not able to hear the discussion with your classmates (earphones are a good way to do that). Since students sometimes share some personal thoughts, it’d ideal for us to keep those shares within the context of the class participants. If you want to keep your background screen private, there are some great Zoom virtual backgrounds you can use to keep your area private and keep the focus on you.
- Participation- Any student displaying threatening, intimidating, or violent behavior may be dismissed and asked to withdraw from the class without a refund. The Artist Way Instructors reserve the right to refuse to register anyone who engages in disruptive or otherwise unacceptable behavior, including the use of illegal drugs or alcohol during the class session.
- Liability
Participants freely and knowingly assume all risk incidental to participating in the class. Participants understand and accept that the instructors are not responsible for injury to persons or property related to participation in class. As a participant, you here by agree to indemnify, release, and hold harmless the instructors, or agents from any liability arising out of or related to any activity, illness, accident, or incident in class and/or in the class Zoom event.
